Life Abundant

These images were taken during walks these past couple of days. The goslings and buds and the turtle don't need explanation. The fish are carp, swarming together in the reeds at Second Marsh. Carp aren't my favorite fish by a stretch, but they were quite beautiful in their hundreds.Click on the photo to get a screen-size image. I also saw a pied-billed grebe and a green heron and a moorhen. There were northern orioles and goldfinches and a bittern. Life, life and more life in the water and on the land and in the air.
Psalm 104 declares:
O Lord, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom you have made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
Yonder is the sea, great and wide,
creeping things innumerable are there,
living things both great and small.
This abundance is all around us for the seeing. Now for the bugs!

Life Abundant! I love this time of year. I am experiencing spring all over again and from a different perspective this time. I am in Alaska. There are beautiful waterfalls from the melting snows of the glaciers above as we pass through the mountain ranges. Life is everywhere. Although the environment must be harsh in the winter and the days so very short, this spring heralds the coming of the much awaited summer solstice. It is surprising to see creatures even at the mountain passes. Sheep, goats, caribou, wolves, coyotes, and even the small pikas (such small little guys out on the snow at Thompson Pass!). Life Abundant, and that isn't to mention the wildflowers about to bloom and the mosquitos!!!

Then sings my soul
My Saviour, God, to thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art!

Hi Karen. Great to hear from you! How wonderful for you to be in Alaska. I have a cousin in the Yukon who keeps sending tempting brochures and books. At some point we will need to succumb.

I'm soon off to Nova Scotia for a few days at one of the holiest places I've ever been, the beach house of a friend near the Keji Seaside Adjunct.

Enjoy.
